Three people walk into a Comedy Clubh...

Alan Hurley, Emman Idama, and Ruth Hunter

"A NIGERIAN, a Corkonian, and a Human Woman walk into a bar..." This is not the start of a joke. It is a partial description of who is playing the Róisín Dubh Comedy Clubh tomorrow.

Alan Hurley, Emman Idama, and Ruth Hunter - seen as among the brightest and most exciting emerging comedic talents in Ireland - play the Clubh at 9pm.

While living in New Zealand, Alan Hurley played at the NZ International Comedy Festival, won the NZ Comedy Guild Award for Best Newcomer, and appeared on TV3 NZ's comedy gala, AotearoHA! - Next Big Things. He has also played the Vodafone Comedy Festival. The Irish Examiner said he "is set to become a household name".

Nigerian-Irish comedian Emman Idama has appeared on FACTS on YouTube, on RTÉ's The Year that’s In It in 2014 and 2015, and on Des Bishop’s This Is Ireland last year. By all accounts he will have audiences laughing at stuff they know they should not be laughing at.

Ruth Hunter "has a wonderful turn of phrase, feeling both real and surreal. Big things predicted for this one", according to The Skinny. She was 2016 runner-up at the So You Think You’re Funny competition.

The MC is Steve Bennett. Tickets are €10 in advance from Róisín Dubh; OMG@Zhivago, Shop Street; and www.roisindubh.net; or €12.50 at the door.
