Mark Kennedy - a night to honour local legend

Performers from the worlds of music, literature, theatre, and film to celebrate Mark's life

MARK KENNEDY, the film-maker, scriptwriter, and one of Galway's best loved personalities, who died last year, will be rememberd, celebrated, and honoured, at a special event in the Róisín Dubh.

Grá agus Solas: Celebrating Mark Kennedy, takes place in the Dominick Street venue, this Sunday, from 8pm, but will be preceded by a climb up Croagh Patrick.

Every year on Mark's birthday, Mark and a variety of friends climbed the reek. The tradition will continue this Easter Sunday, with a climb to the summit, where a birthday cake will be cut and shared in his memory. That evening, an array of performers from the worlds of music, literature, theatre, and film, along with very special guests, will take to the Róisín stage to celebrate Mark's life.

Admission is €10 with all proceeds going to Cancer Care West.
