Spring is in the air at Basilico - La Primavera

With the days growing longer, we are now more likely to leave the comfort of the fireside and get back into socialising mode.

Italian food is always a crowd pleaser and adults and children alike will always find a firm favourite on the menu. As one of Galway's top restaurants and winner of the AA Rosette for Excellence, Basilico Oranmore has a layered offering with both a gastro pub and an elegant fine dining experience.

The bistro has nightly specials which have proved hugely popular with the focus on grills, pasta, and pizzas each night from €9.95 together with the extensive dinner menu.

The owners, Fabiano Mulas and Paolo Sabatini, take pride in sourcing all the best seasonal local produce. Authentic ingredients are imported from Italy, and the excellent wines come from Cantina Lavorata in Calabria. Craft beers, a variety of specially selected gins and Italian liqueurs, as well as a great pint of Guinness have given the bar a well-deserved reputation.

In addition to this, the new and exciting spring menu features all the usual favourites and some new seasonal dishes specially chosen by Paolo Sabatini.

New opening hours

The restaurant opening time is now earlier at 5pm. The new early bird menu will be available from Monday to Thursday from 5pm to 8pm.

This menu will feature all the usual Basilico classics which have proved so popular as well as some new dishes specially selected for this new offer by Paolo Sabatini.

This exciting offer is available at only €15 for two courses.

Pizzas and pasta

Crispy-based pizzas, handmade with Caputo flour, imported from Italy, are produced in the wood-fired pizza oven. All the pasta and bread is freshly made on the premises as are all desserts, and regular customers enjoy specials such as hand-rolled ravioli stuffed with spinach and ricotta in a game ragu, among many authentic Italian dishes cooked to order.
