Maxi Jazz to DJ in Galway next week

Faithless singer to spin the decks at HALO

HE WAS the face and the voice of Faithless, whose songs 'God Is A DJ', 'Insomnia', and 'We Come 1' dominated the charts and the airwaves in the 1990s and early noughties, and now that voice, Maxi Jazz, is coming to Galway.

Maxi, a devout Buddhist fronted the band, i's other members being Sister Bliss and Rollo, and his thoughtful, provocative, lyrics were seen as contradictory to the trio's moniker. They went on to sell more than 15 million albums worldwide. Reverence was an underground sensation with 'Insomnia' becoming one of the biggest club anthems of the decade. The Mercury-nominated Sunday 8pm featured 'God Is A DJ', while the platinum selling Outrospective and No Roots were also big sellers.

Faithless called it a day in 2011, but re-formed last year. However Maxi also has various other projects, including Maxi Jazz & The E-Type Boys which has played on the same bill as Faithless at festivals.

Maxi Jazz will DJ in HALO on Saturday October 29 at 10pm. Tickets are available through Eventbrite. See Halo Nightclub Galway on Facebook.
