JOHANN SEBASTIAN Bach's Overture in the French Style will be performed on harpsichord by the acclaimed Irish musician, Malcolm Proud, in a lunchtime concert for Music For Galway.

The concert, which also features a performance of La Victoire/La Felix/La de Belombre by Frech composer Jacques Duphly, takes place in the Hotel Meyrick on Thursday October 20 at 1.05pm

Malcolm Proud established himself by winning first prize at the 1982 Edinburgh International Harpsichord Competition. He is co-founder, with Swiss violinist Maya Homburger, of Camerata Kilkenny. In 2010 he played all six of Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos with Sir John Eliot Gardiner’s English Baroque Soloists at the London Proms and the Schleswig-Holstein Festival in Germany. Already this year he has given harpsichord recitals in Dublin and London.

Admission is €7; a combo of concert and lunch is €14. Booking through Music for Galway (091 - 705962, [email protected] )
