The Bolshoi Ballet - Live at The Eye

THE GOLDEN Age, a satire of Europe during the Roaring Twenties, will mark the first in a new season of live broadcasts from The Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow to The Eye Cinema in Wellpark.

The Golden Age, which will be screened this Sunday at 4pm, is set in a seaside town where business and mafia are flourishing. The Golden Age cabaret is the favorite nightly haunt of dancers, bandits, and young revellers, where fisherman Boris falls in love with Rita, a beautiful dancer, but also the friend of a local gangster. The ballet's jazzy score and music-hall atmosphere boasts mad rhythms, vigorous chase scenes, and decadent cabaret numbers.

Other Bolshoi shows will be The Sleeping Beauty, A Contemporary Evening, and A Hero of Our Time. Early arrival and booking is advised. For more information and booking see or call 091 - 780078.
