THE VODAFONE Comedy Carnival Galway is not just about show and laughter for adults, there will be shows suitable for families and young comedy fans as well. Here is our guide to the best under-18s events at the festival.

The Lords of Strut - The Family Show: A show for the whole family. Loveable idiots and brothers, Famous Seamus and Sean-tastic, will do anything to be famous - anything. They have charm, wit, and good humour, with flashes of surprising acrobatic skill and just enough naughtiness to keep kids and adults guessing. The show is high energy, funny and suitable for all ages (An Taibhdhearc, Middle Street, 2pm, Saturday October 29 and Sunday 30 ).

Silent Disco for Kids - Hallowe’en Fancy Dress Party: Silent Disco at Róisín Dubh and the Silent Disco Street Parties in the West End are the stuff of legend. Now the Comedy Carnival is doing one for children. Families can dance like nobody is watching while singing like nobody is listening (Monday October 31, Spiegeltent, Eyre Square ).

Foil Arms & Hog Teenage Show: Sketch comedy at its very best. Foil Arms and Hog are three of the most talented comedians to ever emerge from the Irish comedy scene, and are Ireland’s top comedy sketch group. Younger fans will have seen them on YouTube (+5 million views ) but never in the flesh. Luckily, they have agreed to rectify this by performing a rare teenage show - Suitable for age 12+. (Saturday October 29, 5pm, The Red Box, Eyre Square ).

Eddie Edwards - The Eagle Who Dared: Another family show features living legend and true life sporting underdog, Eddie the Eagle, Great Britain’s first-ever Olympic ski jumper, making him an overnight celebrity, at which point life became extremely strange. The Eagle Who Dared is a family-friendly autobiography live on stage as Eddie discusses a sporting life, bankruptcy, facial reconstruction, divorce, and becoming a British national treasure (Saturday October 29, 3pm, Town Hall Theatre ).

The carnival also has a wide selection of afternoon and early evening mixed bill and improv shows suitable for ages 15+. See
