Over The Edge Culture Night Open-Mic

Share your story or poem and be in with a chance to win a prize

GALWEGIANS WITH short stories or poems to share, will have a chance to read them in public, and maybe win prizes, at two Over The Edge open-mics, part of Culture Night 2016.

Both open-mics take place at The Kenny Bookshop and Gallery, Liosbán Retail Park, on Friday September 16. The MC will be Kevin Higgins. Both open-mics will feature readings from writers long-listed for the 2016 Over The Edge New Writer of The Year competition. 

The event for fiction writers starts at 4pm. Participants should bring two pages from a story to read. There will be guest appearances from Elizabeth Reapy and Karl Parkinson, both will read from their recently published novels.

The open-mic for poets starts at 6pm. Participants poets should bring along two poems to read. The reading will include guest appearances from Simon Lewis, who will read from his recently published poetry collection, and Dani Gill, who will read from her collection-in-progress, After Love.

Admission is free. All are welcome.
