Pop-up fundraiser in the Corrib House Tea Rooms

A fundraising night will take place at a special pop-up restaurant in the city tomorrow (Friday ). Cuisine By The Corrib will take place at The Corrib House Tearooms and all proceeds are in aid of Chernobyl Children International.

Headed by well-known Ballymaloe-trained Galway chef Sally Ann Burke, and hosted by Gemma Connolly, the night promises to be a good one with lots of local businesses sponsoring the food produce, as well as fantastic raffle prizes.

Guests will be treated to a prosecco and oyster drinks reception, followed by a five-course tasting menu while enjoying the view over the River Corrib.

The night will raise funds for Chernobyl Children International on the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. Since 1986 €100 million worth of aid has been delivered to impoverished communities and children by Chernobyl Children International.

Galway woman Gemma Connolly will return to Belarus for the second time next month to spend time in Vesnova orphanage. Over the past 16 years, CCI has invested €3 million in Vesnova to make it a 'home' for the children who live there. Hundreds of volunteer builders and medical teams have given up their holidays to improve conditions at the institution.
