Walk with angels helps raise funds for charity

A special walk to raise funds for parents affected by the death of a baby will take place in Galway on Sunday August 21.

"Walking with Angels" is organised by Feileacainm, the stillbirth and neonatal death association of Ireland first founded in 2010, to support families affected by the loss of a baby during pregnancy or shortly after.

The charity currently supplies bereaved parents with memory boxes, and has memory boxes and cuddle cots in every maternity hospital in Ireland.

The charity says there are are approximately 1,000 still births or neonatal deaths each year in Ireland - excluding those affected by miscarriage or late miscarriage.

Galwegians are invited to join the group on Sunday August 21 at the Claddagh Hall. Registration starts at 11am at a cost of €10 per person. The walk starts at 12 noon.
