Renowned entrepreneurship professor to speak at Start-up Galway event next week

Robert Rosenburg, professor of entrepreneurship at the University of Chicago, will be in Galway next week to speak at Start-up Galway’s June meet-up.

The event, organised by Start-up Galway in conjunction with Collins McNicholas, will take place in the PorterShed on Wednesday June 15 at 8pm. The event is sponsored by Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services Group.

Prof Rosenberg is the director of entrepreneurship programmes in the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business — consistently ranked among the top five business schools in the world — and is an adjunct associate professor of entrepreneurship there. He works at the intersection of entrepreneurship and marketing communications. His skills include branding, fundraising, business development, licensing and merchandising, human resources, and strategic planning/implementation. He is a resource and mentor, as well as clinical faculty member at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Prof Rosenburg has supported start-ups in a variety of capacities, from business plan development to investing. Among these are Advanced Diamond Technologies, Brilliant.org, CareMerge, Chromatin, Congressional Pharmaceuticals, Maroon Pharmaceuticals, NephRx, SloWave, Sonarmed, Spin Networks, Tolerance Therapeutics, and Xcyte Therapies. He currently serves on several boards including the Illinois Technology Development Fund, Manufacturing Renaissance, and the Midwest Research University Network. He is also faculty liaison to Hyde Park Angels, the largest and most active angel group in the American midwest, and is co-chair of HPA’s Healthcare Ambassador Circle.

This event will be held in association with the Atlantic Centre for Entrepreneurship to build future links with innovation hubs.
