Jenny Mulvey to launch new album at The Crane

JENNY MULVEY is something of a Renaissance woman. She brought ladies’ Gaelic football into Trinity College, has been a teacher, has travelled the world, and is also a very fine singer.

As a singer Jenny has mastered classical, ecclesiastical, pop, country, punk, and almost everything else in between, but most of all it is traditional Irish music that she has really made her own.

Now Jenny will launch her debut album Suirí in The Crane Bar, Sea Road, on Wednesday at 9pm. The album was produced by Pat Coyne and Johnny ‘Ringo’ McDonagh who will perform on the night along with Sean Reagan (fiddle ), Peter Gannon (piano ), and Ciaran O’Donghaile (feadog ).

Suirí is a collection of trad songs in English as well as standards as Gaeilge like ‘Anach Cuain’, ‘Brid Óg Ní Mhaille’, and ‘Fhir a Bhata’, as well as songs by Kate Rusby, Micheal O’Domhnaill, and Shane McGowan.

Admission is €10/5. For more information contact The Crane on 091 - 587419 or go to www.thecranebar.com
