Galway women host newcomers

Eamonn Deacy Park will host the first visit of Kilkenny United WFC on Saturday (7.30pm ) for their Continental Tyres Women’s National League clash with Galway.

The home side will be hoping to contnue their current run of form, which sees them clear at the top of the league.

Last weekend was a rest week for Galway with some of their players joining up with the Irish Senior and Under 19 sides in Cyprus and Portugal respectively. Galway manager Don O’Riordan will be hoping when he gets all his international players back on Friday they will not be carrying any knocks to ensure he has a strong squad from which to select.

Kilkenny United are newcomers to the league this season. Managed by Noel Kealy, they also have one of the most experienced players in the league in veteran Sylvia Gee. While they struggled to find their feet early on in the league, they strengthened their squad during the transfer window and picked up their first point of the campaign last time out.

O’Riordan’s charges will be taking nothing for granted, but will be looking to take full advantage of the favourite's tag to claim all three points.
