Martin McDonagh's Hangmen @ The Eye

MARTIN MCDONAGH'S new play Hangmen is being staged by Britain's National Theatre in London, but Galwegians will be able to see it the Eye Cinema this evening at 7pm.

Hangmen is set in a small pub in the northern English town of Oldham. Pub regular Harry is something of a local celebrity, but what is the second-best hangman in England to do on the day they've abolished hanging? Among the cub reporters and barflies eager to hear Harry’s reaction to the news, his old assistant Syd, and the peculiar Mooney, lurk with sinister motives.

Martin McDonagh is the author of such acclaimed plays as The Pillowman and The Cripple of Inishmaan, as well as the screenwriter of In Bruges. The play is produced by Matthew Dunster.
