Principal announced for Our Lady’s College

CEIST (Catholic Education and Irish Schools Trust ) has announced the appointment of Clíona Ní Néill as the first principal of Our Lady’s College, Galway. Ms Ní Néill is a native of Galway City and current principal of Presentation Secondary School, a position she has held since 2006.

Our Lady’s College is Galway’s newest secondary school, and will open on September 1. It is the uniting of two great Galway institutions, the Presentation and the Mercy Newtownsmith, and will be located on the site of the Presentation. Catering for more than 500 girls, the new school’s motto is ‘Excellence Together’.

CEO of CEIST Dr Marie Griffin welcomed the new appointment. “We are delighted with the appointment of Clíona Ní Néill as principal and look forward to a successful journey together into the first term this September, for this new Galway school.”

The Board of Management of Our Lady’s College is now due to begin the process of appointing a deputy principal for the new school.
