Learn to paint with Aileen Moran

Have you ever longed to be able to paint or draw? Aileen Moran (nee Dunleavy ) will start a new 10-week course of art classes from the week of September 21.

Painting is essentially a visual dance between lights and darks. Painting is not something that happens overnight. It is a long-term commitment but the payoff is great. Paint every day, if only for one hour, or draw, and it will become an integral part of your life.

Born to the sound of the Bow Bells in the east end of London, Aileen Moran returned to Ireland and grew up in Salthill by the Prom. "Every single day I pinch myself as I gaze into the horizon, thankful for the glorious surroundings of the wild Atlantic coast," she said. "I feel emotionally connected to the beauty of nature’s rhythm. My paintings often start with a seed that may sit around in my head for weeks or years before it takes root."

Aileen Moran provides a 10-week oil painting course, mornings from 10.30am to 12.30pm or evenings from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, at her studio in Salthill. "The course will help you unleash your own inner artist and I will assist with the drawing and painting process," she said. "It is never too late to start fulfilling your dreams and recovering your creative self, enjoying the peace and tranquillity in return."

Aileen Moran exhibits twice a year in the Art Ireland exhibition, RDS Dublin. She has been featured in Irish Art magazine, Galway Now magazine, and displayed her work in many galleries around Ireland including Kenny’s Gallery in Galway. She has had award winning students who have been on The Late Late Show, and have had their work displayed in Hugh Lane Gallery, Dublin, and continued on to art school.

"My reward is to escape to the Burren College of Art in Co Clare during the summer and paint with other artists," she added.
