Boeing Employees Choir free concert

A 60 strong member choir, all employees of the Boeing aircraft and aerospace company, will perform a free concert, along with the Marine Institute Singers, in St Nicholas Collegiate Church, on Saturday September 12 at 7.30pm.

The Boeing Employees Choir from Seattle, Washington, made up of employees and retirees of the US aviation giant, play Galway as part of their debut tour of Ireland and Scotland. The choir is conducted by Dr David Chrysler, who has worked as a music director of choirs in California, Oregon, and Washington for more than 30 years, and accompanied by Boeing engineering analyst Danete O’Neal.

The Boeing Employees Choir chose to tour Ireland because of Boeing’s history of and ongoing business with Irish companies - eg, Ryan Air’s planned purchase of 520 737 Max aircraft. “We also just plain like Ireland and Scotland and among the many parts of Europe we’ve toured, the choir has never toured there," said David Chrysler.

The choir was founded during WWII to help employees’ children celebrate Christmas. It has continued for more than 70 years to entertain audiences at home across the world. The choir rehearses weekly and has two concert seasons in the Seattle area.
