TICKETS FOR the Vodafone Comedy Carnival Galway are now on sale, and with shows from Stewart Lee, Jason Manford, Deirdre O'Kane, and Ireland's rising comedy star Al Porter, the real question is, not if you are going to anything, but WHAT you are going to.
The festival runs from Tuesday October 20 to Monday 26, with shows taking place in the Spiegeltent, which this year is located in Eyre Square, the Róisín Dubh, the Town Hall Theatre, the King's Head, the Black Box Theatre, Seven, and the Salthill Hotel.
Highlights will include Al Porter, performing his show Al Porter Is Yours at the Town Hall on October 23, and he will also take part in shows at the Spiegeltent (October 21, 8pm; 22, 7pm ), and GaelGÁIRÍ Club Grinn in Seven (October 22, 8pm ); there will be two shows from Stewart Lee (Róisín Dubh, October 25 and 26 ); appearances from Shappi Korshandi (headlining Róísín Dubh, October 23; support in Black Box, October 24 ); and Jason Manford (Róísín Dubh, October 21, Spiegeltent, October 22 ).
Fans of The Simpsons also can look forward to Mike Reiss, producer of the long running show giving a talk about the world's favourite dysfunctional family in the Town Hall (October 23 and 24 ). Firm favourites like Rich Hall, David McSavage, Jason Byrne, Aprés Match, and Phill Jupitus will also be playing the festival. However take note the three shows from Dylan Moran have already sold out.
