Cream of Galway indie-rock and folk to play An Áit Eile

One day festival to be held at Nuns Island this Saturday

OH BOLAND!, Boyfights, and Steven Sharpe will be among those playing An Áit Eile, a one day arts, crafts, and music festival in the Nun's Island Theatre, which takes place this Saturday from 11am to 11pm.

The events will be divided between the theatre itself and a marquee. The line-up for the theatre is Tuam pop-punk band Oh Boland!, alternative rockers Boyfights, and Canaries, starting at 8.30pm. In the Marquee the line-up is Access Music Project students; prog-folk band My Fellow Sponges; indie-folk singer-songwriter TracyBruen; blues-rock singer-songwriter Steven Sharpe; grunge-blues guitarist Dylan Murphy; Majestic Bears; and left-field indie-folk duo Rivers and Crows. Gigs here start at 12 noon.

There will also be an indoor market featuring Galway artists, craftspeople, and designers; DJ sets from Stroller, Boyfights guitarist Fuz, and Ray Wingnut; and food from Jamaica Joe's.

An Áit Eile is a not-for-profit organisation, which aims to establish an independent cultural space for the city. It is working with the Access Music Project, Citóg Records, and Galway2020 for this festival. Admission is free all day and then €10 in for the BYOB evening gig in the Theatre.
