Freddie White to play Monroe’s in May

FREDDIE WHITE may live in Sydney these days, but the Cork singer-songwriter has never forgotten his roots, and is coming back to Ireland to play a nationwide tour.

As part of that tour, Freddie will be in Monroe’s Live on Saturday, May 16 at 8.30pm, where audiences can expect old favourites and newer work, including songs from his most recent album Better Days. Nine of its 10 songs were written by Freddie and his wife Trish.

Freddie is renowned for his deep, expressive, voice, while his skill as a guitarist has led him to be called “the maestro”. He first came to attention in 1978, touring with Eric Clapton, following which he released the albums Live On Tour (1979 ) and Do You Do (1981 ), both of which enjoyed public and critical acclaim.

Tickets are €20/18 through www.monroes.ie See also www.freddiewhite.com
