The Galway Lawn Tennis Club has kick-started a drive to fund indoor courts at its Threadneedle Road facility.
In a bumper quiz, 19 teams battled it out for the prize of tennis rackets with the team of Mike Geraghty, Dave Hanney, Hugo Kelly and Raphael McCarron the victors.
The club believes indoor tennis facilities are long overdue given weather in the west of Ireland. The club believes with grant applications and fundraising, it will be only a matter of time before Galway has its first indoor courts.
