Croi head to lead patients’ group

The West Northwest Saolta Hospital Group Patient Council has announced that Croi CEO Neil Johnson will be its first chairperson.

Neil Johnson was selected for the post following a ballot at a meeting this week.

The 16 member group held its first formal meeting this month (Mar 4 ) where Jean Kelly, the Group Director of Nursing and Midwifery was named as Vice Chairperson.

The council is part of the hospital group’s patient and public involvement strategy.

The Patient Council will help assess the current quality of service, recommend new services or changes required to existing services, review policies and procedures, oversee the development of patient involvement initiatives and help communicate to the wider population.

The patient council is endorsed by the board of Saolta University Health Care Group and will report through the executive lead to the Board on its progress, advising and relaying key messages to the Board on patient opinion.
