Actors’ Centre Galway — probably the best in the west

The Actors’ Centre Galway is now enrolling for its spring 2015 classes. The centre was set up due to a need to support actors throughout their career with continued professional development.

The Actors’ Centre offers:

• A place to network, share, and create with other actors and industry professionals.

• Direct opportunities and links with the creative industries to assist working actors.

• Continual professional development opportunities through an extensive programme of high calibre, diverse, and challenging workshops and masterclasses led by distinguished practitioners and expert teachers.

• Opportunities for the public to engage and participate in performance and acting through introductory workshops, a theatre programme, and related events.

The centre was set up by Galway native Emma Owen, a successful actress who lived in London and LA where she studied and worked alongside Sam Mendes, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, John Ortiz, John Swanbeck (The Big Kahuna ), and David Garrett (writer Deuce Bigalow, European Gigolo ), among many others.

The following eight week courses are now enrolling: Acting: Back to Basics - learning how to act; and Acting for TV and Film.

The Back to Basics course is aimed at complete beginners – people who have never acted before but would like to give it a go. The second course is aimed at beginners (who have some previous acting experience ) and intermediate level actors, as well as trained actors making the transition from stage to screen.
