Paddy Mulligan, a member of the great Chelsea team of the late 1960s/early 1970s, who also earned 50 caps for the Republic of Ireland, is coming to Galway this weekend.

Mr Mulligan will be in Shed na Gaillimhe, the official home of the Galway branch of the Chelsea Supporters Club, located in Massimo, William Street, this Saturday. Hosted by writer and Chelsea fan Charlie Adley, the event begins at 4pm, includes a Q&A session, before the vital Chelsea v Manchester City match at 5.30pm.

After signing for Chelsea in 1969, Paddy Mulligan featured in the team that won the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup final against Real Madrid in 1971, as well as appearing at Wembley in the League Cup final against Stoke City a year later. During the talk, he will share his memories of those days, as well his experiences managing Galway United in the 1980s.

In honour of the late Mark Logan, who was a Chelsea fan, Paddy will launch a prize draw for two tickets to the Chelsea v Paris Saint-Germain Champions League game at Stamford Bridge, plus travel, and accommodation, with all the proceeds going to Mark’s favourite charities.

Admission is free and all are welcome.
