Leisureland is set to be transformed into an exciting fighting area when Wrestlemania rolls into town bringing with it muscle-bound superstars from across the globe including Goliath ‘The Beast’ from Sky TV’s Gladiators series.

The Superstars of Wrestling event will be the biggest event of its kind outside of Dublin and Belfast as the heroes and villains of the squared circle go one-on-one using a combination of strength, skill, and expertise.

Joining the Superstars on this tour will be Goliath (Barri Griffiths ) who is the real undertaker of the wrestling world. Standing six foot six inches and weighing in at 20 stone, with a body that looks like it was chiselled from stone, Goliath is a terrifying sight to anyone who has to face him on Gladiators or in the wrestling ring.

Only a few years ago Barri, who is a trained joiner/carpenter, was working for his parents in their undertaking business. When a wrestling event was staged at his local leisure centre he jumped a the chance to show what he could do. Within days he found himself being dragged and thrown all over the ring. Last year he auditioned for the new series of Gladiators and is quickly becoming a house-hold name.

The Leisureland event will also feature some of the best wrestlers from the USA, Mexico, Japan, and Europe, including the former Mr USA (Broady Steele ). Also featured will be a six-man elimination tag team contest. Anything goes in Superstars of Wrestling. Be there to find out who will be the only man left standing.

The event will take place on Thursday, February 5, with a bell time of 7.30pm. Tickets are now on sale for €15 from Zhivago, Shop Street, tel: (091 ) 509960.
