IF YOU have tickets to AC/DC in the Aviva in July but need to whet your appetite for some live acca dacca sounds before then, or if you love Led Zeppelin and know that the 2007 reunion is unlikely to happen again, then help is at hand.

Monroe’s Live is hosting gigs by leading tribute bands to AC/DC and Led Zeppelin this month.

AC/DC tribute band Whole Lotta Voltage play on Friday January 23 at 10pm. During a two hour show the Dublin quintet will take the audience on a wild, rollercoaster, journey of four decades of high voltage rock’n’roll - in an authentic representation, in style and sound, of the Australian legends - so expect to hear such classics as ‘Highway To Hell’, ‘Back In Black’, ‘You Shook Me All Night Long’, ‘Whole Lotta Rosie’, ‘Hells Bells’, and ‘Bad Boy Boogie’.

Support on the night is from Jupiter. Tickets are €10/€8 from www.monroes.ie

Led Zeppelin

Led Zeppelin tribute band No Stairway return to the main stage at Monroe’s Live on Friday January 16 at 9pm. The Galway band are Ronan O’Malley (guitar ), Shane O’Malley (bass/keys/backing vocals ), Bill Dunne (drums/backing vocals ) and the Galway Advertiser Galway Solo Artist of 2014 Steven Sharpe (lead vocals ) who is also an hugely talented singer-songwriter.

The band set will not only feature such Zep classics as ‘Stairway To Heaven’, ‘Black Dog’, and ‘Whole Lotta Love’, but also songs from the Page/Plant/Jones/Bonham canon that are often overlooked - a real treat so for hardcore fans of the band.

Tickets are €8/€5 through www.monroes.ie
