John Sikowski returns to Connemara

JOHN SIKOWSKI, a leading exponent of Scottish traditional dance, will be the featured dance teacher at the all-day jig workshop at the Féile Chóilín Sheáin Dharachin Ros Muc.

The workshop will take place in Colaiste Cuimhneachán An Phiasaigh across from the post office in the centre of Ros Muc on Saturday January 31 at 10am. At 4pm there will be an open dancing on the half-door and barrel exhibition in Pub Tigh Mhaidhcó.

John’s grandmother married a Polish immigrant working in the hotel business on the Isle of Skye which explains his surname. He lives in Edinburgh but has strong Gaelic family relations on the Hebridean Isle of Lewis.

In addition to being a dancer, he plays the accordion, is an accomplished photographer, has an interest in circus performance arts, and is academically accredited in psychology.
