Free screening of Jimmy’s Hall

KEN LOACH’S FILM Jimmy’s Hall, which the director has declared will be his last, will be screened by the Liam & Tom O’Flaherty Society tomorrow.

The film is about the life of Leitrim man Jimmy Gralton, a socialist who ran a dancehall but who faced constant pressure and censure from the Catholic clergy over his ideals. The screening takes place in the Harbour Hotel at 7pm. Sligo county councillor Declan Bree will also give a talk about the life of Jimmy Graton.

Admission is free and all are welcome. There will be opportunity for an informal discussion after the screening
