The Lost Brothers - voices to stop you in your tracks

“ONCE IN a while you hear voices that stop you in your tracks. The Lost Brothers are the real deal. They have the most beautiful harmonies around and...they have the songs to back it up.”

So said Willy Vlautin, leader of country-rock band The Richmond Fontaine, and one of America’s finest contemporary songwriters, about The Lost Brothers who play Strange Brew at the Róisín Dubh on Thursday November 20 at 9pm.

The Liverpool/Irish duo - Mark McCausland and Oisin Leech - released their fourth album, New Songs Of Dawn and Dust, this year, with Bill Ryder-Jones, former guitarist with The Coral, at the production helm.

“This new album steps away from the strictly folk/Americana thing and opens up a new door for us,” says Oisin. The band’s influences include Ennio Morricone, Jack Nitzsche, Beck, Chuck Berry, Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, and Nick Cave.

As well as receiving support from Steve Lamacq, Lauren Laverne, Huey Morgan and Bob Harris on British radio, The Waterboys’ Mike Scott has also praised the duo saying. “If there’s any justice under the moon and the stars the Lost Brothers will come through!”

Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, the Ticket Desk at OMG Zhivago, Shop Street, and The Róisín Dubh.
