TWO THOUSAND years of Western art, one of the most extraordinary of such collections, is held within The Vatican Museums.
Galway audiences will be able to see inside The Vatican Museum when museum director, Professor Antonio Paolucci, gives a guided tour, which will be broadcast live via satellite to The Eye Cinema, Wellpark, next Tuesday at 6.30pm.
Audiences will see paintings by Caravaggio, Giotto, da Vinci, Caravaggio, Van Gogh, Chagall, and Dalì; the statue of Laocoön and his sons, the Belvedere Torso, the cast of Michelangelo’s Pietà; and frescos by Raphael.
