Taking care of you and your business at Meet West 2014

As Irish businesses emerge from the recession they have a myriad of issues on their plates but none is more important than taking care of the person at the helm of the business.

In addition to scheduling over 4,500 one to one business networking meetings, Meet West 2014 will be hosting a number of consultation clinics where businesses will be able to receive expert advice various aspects of their business.

Specialised clinics will be available in the areas of finance, occupational health, diet and nutrition and people management. Among the experts on hand to answer delegates queries will be nutritionist Maeve Creaven, fitness guru Adrian Craddock, mindfulness coach Theresa Donoghue, in addition to representatives from KPMG, Collins McNicholas, and Galway Community Counselling.

Attendees at Meet West 2014 will be able to seek advice on pensions, insurance, succession planning, business legal structure and VAT/ Income tax. Human resource experts will also be on hand to speak with delegates on staff morale, motivation, managing conflict and group dynamics, in addition to the important of mindfulness practise for businesses.

Businesses owners can find out how to have a healthy work life balance while learning how to manage stress in the workplace. Key to a successful business is the physical health of its people and advice will be available on nutrition and exercise.

For businesses interested in how to be more environmentally friendly, Sinéad Ní Mhainnín from Galway County Council will provide tips and advice on ‘greening a business.’

Sheila Byrnes, Project manager for Meet West 2014, says that the consultation clinics have been developed in response to feedback from previous attendees for specialised advice.

“This is the fourth year of Meet West and each year we build on the learnings of previous events in order to offer delegates the best possible networking and business conference.”

“By attending this event businesses will be able to meet informally with a range of experts, get practical information and advice and even find out ways to save your business money,” said Ms Byrnes.

With just over two weeks to close of registration she is delighted with the response received from businesses throughout the west.

“We’ve had a great response to date with some of the biggest names in the west of Ireland have signed up including Cisco systems, Medtronic and Celestica.”
