A night of Bach’s cantatas and arias

GERMAN SOPRANO Anja Pöche-Lipfert and the internationally acclaimed baroque ensemble Camerata Kilkenny are touring Ireland this month, taking in Galway next week.

Pöche-Lipfert and Camerata - Swiss baroque violinist Maya Homburger and the Irish harpsichordist and organist Malcolm Proud - play NUI Galway’s Aula Maxima this Tuesday at 8pm.

The concert programme will feature cantatas, instrumental works and arias by JS Bach, including Cantata 82a ‘Ich habe genug’ and the Orchestral Suite No 2. Joining Pöche-Lipfert and Camerata for the performance will be Rachel Beckett (baroque flute ), Claire Duff (baroque violin ), Marja Gaynor (baroque viola ), Richard Tunnicliffe (baroque cello ), and Barry Guy (double bass ).
