SugarBeat festival close to selling out

DAMIEN DEMPSEY, KeyWest, and The Amazing Apples play the first SugarBeat festival which takes place in Tuam Stadium on Saturday August 23.

The festival is close to being sold-out but some tickets are still available from entertainment.ie and in Tuam from Quinn’s Shop, Bishop Street, and The Cellar Bar, Shop Street. Any remaining tickets will be available at the festival box office which opens today.

Singer-songwriter Damien Dempsey headlines the event and it will be a kind of homecoming for the artist. “My grandfather is from the Tuam area,” he revealed, “so there is a good bit of blood there and I am really looking forward to this festival in particular.”

The Delta Security Group Stage features Damien Dempsey, Mundy, The Raglans, KeyWest, The Amazing Apples, and Strange Boats.

There will also be stalls serving food and fringe events are being organised . There will also be a special market on the Saturday, street busking, and music sessions in pubs.

Gates open at 12 noon. The first performance is at 12.30pm. The festival closes at 10.30pm. See www.sugarbeat.ie
