Tuam band release split album with Mayo’s Me And My Dog

BIZARRE AS it is to many, cassette has actually made a comeback and indie bands can be as likely to release an album or EP on tape as on vinyl, CD, or digital.

The latest cassette release to come to the attention of Advertiser.ie is the new split release, through the Popical Island label, from Tuam’s brilliant pop-punk band Oh Boland and Westport surf-pop/garage rockers Me And My Dog. Entitled Delphi, the album features 10 songs, five apiece from each band.

The album comes in pro-dubbed pale blue cassette tape format in a white case, with a cover featuring the ruins of The Tholos, at the base of Mount Parnassus, in the ancient site of Delphi, in Greece.

For those of you happy to stick with a digital format, you can listen to the new album below (and then buy it from http://popicalisland.bandcamp.com/ for €8 ):

Free music from Oh Boland

Oh Boland were formed in 2012 by Niall Murphy, Simon McDonagh, and Éanna MacDonnchadha, and their thrashing guitars, catchy hooks, thumping drums, and high-intensity live shows have provided many a good night out in Galway.

Their first two EPs, entitled OH! and HO!, and recorded and produced by So Cow’s Brian Kelly, have been praised by wearenoise.ie and State.ie Both can be downloaded for free at http://ohboland.bandcamp.com/. We encourage you to do so.
