GALWAY MUSICIANS and singers seeking to jam with others, forge alliances, collaborate, and explore ideas should check outma new night in The Cellar.
PLAY!, a weekly jam night organised for local musicians of all ages and genres, starts this Monday.
The PLAY! houseband will launch the night with a short set, before being joined by local musicians who want to sing or jam with the band. It extends the traditional open mic form into a collaborative performance. There is no need to pre-arrange a slot, just turn up on the night, and include your name on the sign-up sheet.
The MC is Tom Pyne and there will be a featured guest spot each week to allow emerging songwriters an opportunity to showcase their original material.
