Mag Mell - a wild night of wild theatre

WHAT HAPPENS when comedian Jon Kenny, puppeteer Des Dillon, and virtuoso musicians Benny McCarthy and Conal Ó Gráda are let into the same room? Mag Mell.

Mag Mell, a theatre adaptation of old Irish ghost stories and folk tales, with a modern twist, told through music, song, comedy, puppetry, and dance, is coming to the Town Hall Theatre on Saturday May 24 at 8pm.

Mag Mell, an island off the west coast, fabled for eternal peace and happiness, is about to experience a serious bout of 21st century greed and materialism. Mother Earth must make a stand, and so she enlists the help of fairies and ghosts to save the island.

The show is presented by Whobeganit Theatre Co Ltd, founded by Kenny, Dillon, McCarthy, and Ó Gráda (flute player & composer ). The will be joined onstage by Colm Murphy (bodhrán ), Ciaran Ó Maonaigh (fiddle ), Caitlín NicGabhann (concertina player ) and Katie Holly (singer-songwriter ).
