Kíla @ Monroe’s Live

THE HIGH energy, many-headed, collision of world and Irish music that is Kíla comes to Monroe’s Live this Bank Holiday Sunday at 9pm.

Formed more than 25 years ago by the Ó Snodaigh brothers and Eoin Dillon, along with several musicians who would later go on to form The Frames, Kíla has been renowned as one of the most exciting live bands around.

The percussive heartbeat of the band is Rónán Ó Snodaigh, described variously as “the living embodiment of Turlough O’Carolan and Bob Marley”, and as “the Jimi Hendrix of bodhrán”, he makes Kíla’s music pulsate with a primal groove.

With Rónán busy with his most recent solo effort Sos, and with his band The Occasionals, this concert marks a relatively rare full Kíla show.

Tickets are €10 through www.monroes.ie or on the door for €12.
