Skoda launches new flagship Superb L&K

Skoda Ireland has just released its most luxurious model to date, the new flagship Superb Laurin & Klement.

It is the most luxurious grade of Skoda available and there will be further models with this specification arriving in the coming months.

Named after the founders of Skoda, Václav Klement and Václav Laurin, these days it is reserved for the highest grade models in the range, and this one is no exception. It comes with a powerful 2.0-litre 170bhp TDI engine in manual, DSG and 4x4 variants.

Standard equipment is impressive to say the least, with 18” “Sirius” alloy wheels with a silver and black design, the L&K logo on the door inserts, on the exterior, and on the leather seats, embroidered into the seat backrests. There are heated seats front and rear, park assist, the high-end Columbus Sat-Nav with “Canton” surround sound with 10 loudspeakers, climatronic dual-zone air-conditioning, keyless entry, Bi-Xenon lights and rear LED lights.

Raymond Leddy, Skoda’s head of marketing and product, told the Advertiser: “Skoda's one of the oldest car manufacturers in the world approaching 110 years in existence. Once one of the world’s most prestige car brands, Laurin & Klement built their reputation early in the last century by supplying large luxurious limousines supplied to royalty all around the world. Their tradition and heritage is reflected in the quality of finish evident in our new Laurin & Klement range.”

Superb Laurin & Klement prices start from €36,415, for the 2.0 TDI 170 bhp manual version - and that is also for a car with rear legroom able to match and better that of most luxury saloons.
