Restoring humanity and healing the land

Eileen McMahon, a UK based solicitor came to East Clare in June 2008 to take a short sabbatical to write her book on psychological trauma. She had always worked on trauma cases during her 20 years career in personal injury litigation.

Her path has been interesting and although she always knew that she was an intuitive person her ability to see, feel and hear expanded when on Irish soil. She worked with Des Glynn of Grealish Glynn in Gort to draw plans for a Celtic roundhouse healing centre but then the recession came. She set up instead Claddagh Heart Beauty Salon and Complementary health centre in August 2009.

She wrote Restoring Humanity in early 2013 but her years in East Clare/South Galway meant that another section called Healing the Land had to be added. She began to realise that as well as healing people; we also had to heal the land. All her research and spiritual insights led her to spending time in India in December 2013. She went to Pondicherry and saw a spiritual village Auroville that was not dissimilar to that she had designed with Des Glynn. She says she was told by Archangel Gabriel that Claddagh Heart Village must be set up in the West of Ireland and it is now her priority to raise the funds to start this village. She has always believed that the village will straddle the East Clare and South Galway borders. She says that Irish people has lovely soothing voices, which would be excellent when working with survivors of trauma. Around the centre; she wants to bring back established industries such as arts and crafts, stone masonry, story -telling and traditional music. Her book explains her journey and why the village is the final destination.
