Kormac’s Big Band to ring in 2014 @ Róisín Dubh

KORMAC’S BIG Band will ring in 2014 in style, with its acclaimed mix of DJing, audio-visual shows, and of course the musical and attitudinal exuberance of its 11-piece ensemble.

Kormac’s Big Band, along with the multi-talented musician and producer Daithí play the Róisín Dubh’s New Year’s Eve Party on Tuesday December 31 from 8pm.

Kormac divides his time between his studio in Dublin and a busy touring schedule. He plays regularly throughout Ireland, Britain, and the continent. He released his debut album, Word Play, on Scribble Records in 2010. It features DJ Yoda, Koaste (Black Grass, ) DJ Cheeba (Solid Steel/Ninja Tunes, ) Messiah J & The Expert, and MC Little Tree.

Daithí has just released his new single ‘Case Closed’ - the follow-up to summer’s ‘Chameleon Life’ - and featuring the talents of Cork vocalist Senita. The track was produced by Ian Ring (Young Wonder ).

A fiddle-playing, house-making, hair-flicking bundle of energy, Daithí spent the summer playing Forbidden Fruit, Body and Soul, Electric Picnic, Castlepalooza, and the Sea Sessions. He begins 2014 as one of the Irish acts playing at the influential Eurosonic festival in Groningen. And after that, he gears up for the release of his debut album.

Also playing on the night are the brilliant trio Boyfights, led by Eoin Reilly, whose music mixes hard edged indie with a nod to the Pixies and The Breeders; and The Depravations, an indie-folk quintet based in Galway.

Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, the Ticket Desk at OMG Zhivago, Shop Street, and The Róisín Dubh.
