Holland’s Londis has established a welcoming atmosphere, quality customer service, and strong ties to the local community of Oughterard and its surroundings for 30 years.

In 1984 Pat Holland took over the store from the Joyce family. His brother Richard Holland kept up the family tradition becoming the owner and proprietor of the store in 1994.

The shop is staffed by local people who have stayed loyal to the business over its long existence. While most have remained with the store for between five and 10 years, staff member Tracy Welby has been the longest serving employee with 25 years of experience. This loyalty has established a warm and friendly atmosphere at Holland’s Londis where the customers and staff know each other and have forged strong friendships.

Holland’s Londis has further cemented its connection to the local community through providing sponsorship and support to local organisations, sports clubs, and groups. Holland’s has provided sponsorship to the local Oughterard Agriculture Show for many years, while it was also one of the main sponsors of the restoration of the Oughterard Court House. The store has a keen interest in local sports clubs, sponsoring the local Oughterard and Killanin GAA clubs and sponsoring jerseys for Oughterard AFC. The store also supports the Clann Resource Centre, the Oughterard Heritage Association, and the Youthreach Project among others.

Holland’s Londis has many services available in store including a butcher’s counter, a large chilled product display, a deli and hot foods counter, an off licence, ATM, Lotto, and free parking on site. The store provides a free home delivery service for customers in the area, where people can phone in their orders or drop in with their grocery list and Holland’s will deliver the goods to their doorstep free of charge.

Holland’s has announced the establishment of a new service recently, Parcel Connect. This facility is a parcel drop off and collection service for customers and is the only facility of its kind in the area. The service also allows companies such as Littlewoods to use the facility so customers can return purchased items free of charge. For more information on Parcel Connect, visit www.parcelconnect.ie/ParcelConnect Finally, Richard Holland and all the staff at Holland’s Londis Oughterard would like to wish their customers a very happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
