Taylor’s award gives Galway women a boost

Galway WFC returns to action this weekend when to do battle against Wexford Youths in Ferrycarrig Park on Saturday evening.

Galway travel south boosted with striker Sinead Taylor having been selected as the first Bus Éireann WNL Player of the Month award of the season.

Taylor has been in stunning form for the Galway women and currently is the WNL top scorer with eight goals.

"It's good for the whole team for one of us to be recognised. For a new team I think we're doing well and progressing each week," she says.

Taylor has also represented Offaly in Gaelic football and camogie and recently was called into the Ireland Women's Sevens rugby squad after impressing with her local club Buccaneers.

Galway WFC Manager Nigel Keady will be anxious to get his team back to action after two weeks off for the international break and last weekend’s FAI Cup final.

“We played Wexford in the opening game of the season and drew with them 2-2. In that game we finished strongly and I hope that we will be able to bring that tempo with us to the south east on Saturday.”
