Titans see off Fr Matthews to open league account

Titans basketball used all their experience to see off a much-improved Fr Matthews side in the National League division one clash in Cork.

In a competitive and physical encounter, the Galway side led 24-20 after the opening quarter with all Titans hitting the floor.

By half time Titans, though leading 45-36, never felt comfortable, but maintained their lead after the third by 63- 51.

Titans used their bench players to the fullest in the last quarter and were comfortably leading until the home side hit six points without reply to cut the deficit to just seven with 80 seconds remaining. However Titans hung on for a good win on the road against a tough Cork outfit.
