Cabin Collective @ Campbell’s Tavern

Galway supergroup the Cabin Collective will play Campbell’s Tavern in Cloughanover on Saturday August 31 at 8.30pm.

The Cabin Collective came together last April in Tuam when a diverse group of North Galway musicians attended a birthday party in Larry Kelly's Scandinavian log style cabin and joined in a long weekend jam session, swapping songs, stories, and instruments. When word spread among Galway music circles about the Tuam session in Larry's house, The Cabin Collective were invited to play their debut public show at the Taibhdhearc venue in Galway as part of the Galway Cuirt Festival and on the main stage at the Westport Music Festival.

Four months later, The Cabin Collective have appeared on RTE’s The Late Late Show, have been added to this year's Electric Picnic lineup on Sunday September 1, and their first single, ‘Lines Are Fading’ was chosen as the song of the week by Ian Dempsey on his Today FM Breakfast Show.

The group features four Galway songwriters and singers in their line-up, Noelie McDonnell; Leo Moran of The Saw Doctors; Anthony Thistlethwaite, a founding member of The Waterboys; and Keith Mullins who sings lead vocals on the band’s debut single 'Lines Are Fading'.

Completing the nine man line-up are some of Galway's finest musicians including cabin owner Larry Kelly on guitar, Dave Clancy on pedal steel, percussionist Eimhin Cradock, Michael Coen on bass guitar and Rickie O'Neill on drums.

As a follow up to their current single, The Cabin Collective will release Noelie McDonnell's song 'Marrakech' on Friday September 27 followed by their first nationwide tour with concerts in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Waterford, and Belfast.

Tickets for the Campbell’s Tavern gig cost €13 including booking fee and are available at Campbell’s or on ticketmaster.ie
