Public urged to have say on Threadneedle Road junction

People with views and concerns regarding proposed changes to the junction at Taylor's Hill and the Threadneedle, Bishop O’Donnell, and Kingston roads are being advised to get them in this week.

Drawings and details of the proposed junction improvements have been available for inspection at the Galway City Council’s Transportation, Infrastructure, Recreation and Amenity Section, Yeats College Annex, College Road.

The scheme proposes a prohibition on a right turn from Taylor’s Hill Road on to Bishop O’Donnell Road; and no right turn for vehicles from Kingston Road on to Threadneedle Road. Prohibiting right turns at both of these locations will not apply to cyclists.

Labour city councillor Niall McNelis is urging members of public with views, suggestions, or concerns to inspect the plans and make a submission.

The plans can be inspected today and tomorrow from 9am to 4pm. Submissions can be made up to 12 noon on Monday August 19. Submissions must be made in writing and be marked ‘Submission on Threadneedle Road Junction Improvements’.
