Moonfish to bring Star Of The Sea to the stage

GALWAY THEATRE company Moonfish will perform its stage adaptation of Joseph O’Connor’s acclaimed novel Star Of The Sea at An Taibhdhearc in July 2014.

Moonfish, the company behind the award-winning production Tromluí Phinocchio/Pinocchio - a Nightmare, plan to continue their exploration of bi-lingual theatre, as well as using light, sound, and movement, to tell a story, with its adaptation of O’Connor’s novel.

Star Of The Sea is set in Conamara during the Famine and asks what happens when a society is put under immense pressure? What are the ethical choices facing individuals at these moments in time? And what has been the Famine’s lasting effect on Irish culture?

Galwegians can also help support the show by voting for it to receive an Arthur Guinness Project award. Log on to www.arthurguinnessprojects.com and click on Moonfish’s Star Of The Sea. The awards will be presented in the autumn.
