Fringe Festival art exhibitions

THE GALWAY Fringe Festival continues up to Sunday so there is still time to see any of its 16 art exhibitions throughout the city.

Among the exhibition highlights is Anthony Cullen’s Leave It On in the Cottage Bar, daily from 12 noon to 6pm. This video piece tells the story of a teenage girl who goes to Australia for work but who cannot overcome her homesickness.

GMIT graduate, Fiona Lenaghan, has a series of figurative oil paintings in the Dominican Hall (daily from 11am to 6pm ). The paintings are divided into two series - the first theme is energy, the second is Galway people shopping and walking.

Emer Fanning and Martin King’s Friends On Facebook is a digital installation that allows viewers to explore the characters and events from different perspectives, through film, social media, and sound. See it in The Oslo Bar, Salthill, from 11am to 11.30pm.

Rosemary Fallon’s fantastical exhibition, Exile to Wonderland, Galway Bay Galleries, Dominick Street, features the artist’s pop-surrealist paintings featuring pretty girls against fantastical backgrounds. Also featured are metal sculptures and custom made dolls.
