TWO INTENSIVE weekend workshops for actors will take place during July and August with leading Galway theatre practitioners - actress Sarah O'Toole and actor/director Max Hafler.
The Stanislavski Workshop with Sarah O‘Toole takes place in the Anno Santo Hotel, Salthill (cost €75 ). Working with Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull, the class will explore how actors can use their imagination to bring themselves closer to a character. The classes take place this month, email address below for more details.
Max Hafler's Chekhov Intro course takes place in the Blue Teapot Theatre, Munster Avenue, on August 10 and 11 (cost €75 ). Michael Chekhov believed characters were to be found through the imagination and the body rather than focusing on the intellect.
Those wishing to attend should be over 18. It is suitable for those interested in acting and those wishing to refresh their skills in the technique. Participants should learn five or six lines from Tennessee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie.
