Dramatic dinner as murder’s on the menu for innovative evening

Galway city will be the scene of the crime as the premier show of murder mystery dinner theatre company ‘Murder on the Menu’ draws near.

The show, entitled Mistress to the Mob, is the brainchild of local entrepreneur Bruce Henry of Oranmore who has assembled a local starring cast for this unusual night. The show will debut on July 19 at 7.30pm at the Harbour Hotel and runs for three nights before the end of the month.

Aside from their regularly scheduled public shows, the company’s website also promote themselves as an alternative entertainment option for sports and social clubs, company Christmas parties, and fundraisers.

The surprising twist in this story is Bruce Henry’s commitment to local business, local jobs, and local arts with a strong emphasis on service and value, according to the owner himself.

“This recession has been difficult on all of us. I’m just trying to find small ways that I can help improve the lives of those in my community,” says Henry. “At Murder on the Menu, we believe the lifeblood of any community is small and medium business. We have a tremendous partnership with one of the best hotels in Galway city, The Harbour Hotel, and we have a great team of cast members that are ready to bring a lot of laughter and fun to Galway. The more shows we book, the more hours the hotels can offer their staff and the better it is for everyone.”

Tickets include the show, a beautifully prepared three course meal, a complementary glass of house wine with dinner, and coffee and tea with dessert. Tickets are €50 each and available from the company’s website www.murderonthemenu.ie For a table of nine co-workers or friends booking together, the company offer two complimentary bottles of Prosecco to the table that guests can enjoy at the beginning of the night. Murder on the Menu have also done a deal with local taxi company Galway Taxis to provide reduced fares to ticket holders on the night of the events.

“There’s nothing like this operating on this scale in Galway and I think it demonstrates how business is changing for the better in Ireland,” Henry continues. “As this recession continues, young entrepreneurs such as myself, are going back to basics, back to what they know and love and are creating businesses from that passion. There’s nothing more important than to see young people feel empowered and willing to take those risks.”

Murder on the Menu will run for four shows on July 19, 20, 26, and 27, and then perform one weekend a month until the end of November, exclusively at the Harbour Hotel.
