X-Factor star for Galway

X FACTOR winner Matt Cardle and acclaimed Irish singer-songwriter Ryan Sheridan will play Monroe’s Live next month.

After impressing X-Factor judges with his renditions of ‘You Know That I’m No Good’ and folk standard ‘The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face’, former painter and decorator Matt Cardle went on to win the competition in 2010, securing the highest number of votes in all but one of the competition’s rounds.

He has since gone on to sell more than two million singles, hitting number one in both the British and Irish charts with ‘Run for Your Life’, and reaching number two in the album charts on both sides of the Irish Sea with Letters.

Matt Cardle plays Monroe’s Live on Sunday July 28 for an intimate acoustic concert. Tickets are €20.

Ryan Sheridan returns to the Dominick Street venue on Saturday July 13 at 8pm. The Monaghan man began by busking on Grafton Street and since then has enjoyed chart hits with ‘Jigsaw’ and ‘The Dreamer’ and the iTunes number one ‘Walking in the Air’. He has also performed for US President Barack Obama.

Tickets are €20 for each concert and are available through www.monroes.ie and 091 - 583397.
